POST-HAIR TRANSPLANT CARE

Post-hair transplant hair care treatments are essential to encourage healthy growth of newly implanted hair and expedite the healing process. Following a careful and diligent hair care routine after hair transplantation helps maximize the preservation of transplant results. Here are some important steps for post-hair transplant hair care treatments:

Follow Your Doctor’s Instructions: Strictly adhere to the instructions provided by the doctor who performed the hair transplant procedure. You may need to use special dressings, medications, or shampoos. Pay close attention to restrictions on washing and styling your hair.

Follow Washing Guidelines: After a hair transplant, the clinic will instruct you on how to care for your wounds and wash your hair during the first washing. According to your doctor’s instructions, you should gently wash your hair as demonstrated during the first 10 days. Use lukewarm water and low water pressure while washing, and avoid massaging the scalp.

Protective Hat: Avoid direct sunlight and excessive UV rays after a hair transplant. When you go out in the sun, protect your head with a hat or bandana. However, we do not recommend using tight-fitting hats during the first 2 months.

Prepare for Hair Shedding: After a hair transplant, some of the transplanted hair may shed. This is a normal process known as “shock loss.” Don’t worry; the shed hair will be replaced by healthy new hair later.

Avoid Hammams, Saunas, and Swimming Pools for 2 months.

Hair Styling: Avoid using hair straighteners, curling irons, or hairdryers for a while after a hair transplant, as they can negatively affect the adaptation process. Similarly, the use of hair styling products like sprays, serums, gels, etc., should be limited, and if possible, applied without touching the hair roots.

Nourishing Hair Masks and Serums: Use natural hair masks or nourishing hair care products to support the transplanted hair and strengthen the hair follicles. Products containing keratin and biotin, in particular, can help your hair appear stronger and shinier.

Hair Trimming: After a hair transplant, your hair will begin to grow. We do not recommend using clippers on the transplanted area; instead, we suggest using scissors for trimming during the first year. You can use clippers in the donor area once the skin has healed. Trim your hair regularly to shape it and promote healthy growth.

Consistently following post-hair transplant care treatments allows the transplanted hair to fully heal and achieve maximum results. Keep in mind that the post-transplant healing process can vary from individual to individual, so it’s essential to follow your doctor’s recommendations. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to communicate with your doctor.
